I racconti di Terramare è un film d'animazione giapponese scritto e diretto da Goro Miyazaki e prodotto dallo Studio Ghibli. Liberamente basato sui primi quattro romanzi del Ciclo di Earthsea (Il mago di Earthsea, Le Tombe di Atuan, La spiaggia più lontana e L'isola del Drago) della scrittrice statunitense Ursula K. Le Guin e ispirato dal manga Shuna no tabi del padre Hayao Miyazaki, è stato proiettato per la prima volta nelle sale giapponesi il 29 luglio del 2006 e in quelle italiane il 20 aprile 2007.
I draghi hanno invaso il mondo degli umani e qualcosa o qualcuno ha spezzato l'equilibrio di "terramare". Gli animali muoiono, il raccolto è compromesso, gli uomini impazziscono e i figli uccidono i padri. Arren giovane principe di Enland colpevole di parricidio, fugge dal castello inseguito e tormentato da un'ombra, la sua parte oscura e malvagia. Sulla strada per Hort Town incontra Sparviere, arcimago saggio e potente alla ricerca della causa che ha alterato l'armonia del mondo, Tenar, un'ex sacerdotessa e custode delle Tombe di Atuan e Therru, un'orfana di rara sensibilità che nasconde un segreto. Insieme scopriranno le oscure trame di Aracne, un antico mago che brama la vita eterna. Arren lo affronterà riscattando il proprio peccato, ristabilendo l'equilibrio e riconsegnando le tenebre alla luce.
