Da giornalista, Eddie Brock ha combattuto una sorta di battaglia contro il geniale Carlton Drake, il fondatore della Life Foundation, ma ciò ha finito con il rovinare la sua carriera e la relazione con la fidanzata Anne Weying. Dopo aver indagato su uno degli esperimenti di Drake, Eddie vede il suo corpo diventare la casa perfetta dell'alieno simbionte Venom, che gli dona nuovi incredibili super poteri e la possibilità di fare qualsiasi cosa desideri. Enigmatico, imprevedibile, complesso e mosso da rabbia, Venom porta a Eddie a confrontarsi con le sue abilità tanto pericolose quanto complesse. Ben presto, però, sarà difficile capire dove finisce Eddie e dove comincia Venom.
