John Rambo, reduce del Vietnam, vive alla ricerca di un lavoro e del suo
equilibrio psichico. Dopo essere stato arrestato e maltrattato, Rambo
si libera e fugge. Braccato dai rappresentanti della legge, in breve li
mette fuori combattimento. Viene chiamata la Guardia Nazionale, ma per
l'ex Berretto Verde è un gioco da ragazzi tenerla in scacco. Alla fine
Rambo si arrende al suo ex colonnello, appositamente venuto da
Washington.
