Richard Barney viene accusato, in base a indizi, di aver ucciso la
moglie e la ex collega di lavoro che ha provocato il suo licenziamento.
In realtà l'assassino è un suo amico che, dopo averlo ospitato, lo
denuncia alla polizia. Condannato, Richard intuisce la colpevolezza
dell'amico. Dopo essere fuggito,lo raggiunge insieme al capitano Oxford,
proprio quando sta per sbarazzarsi di un terzo cadavere.
