In una grande casa isolata nella campagna attorno a Sète, nel sud della Francia, vivono una madre e la figlia. Madame Keller, è la vedova di un ricco costruttore portuale, la figlia, Julia, è vittima di un incidente che l'ha lasciata storpia e dipendente da farmaci e droghe. La malavita entra nelle loro vite - ma sarebbe più corretto dire il contrario- dopo la morte di Rodolphe, un piccolo pusher con cui la ragazza aveva una relazione. L'amico d'infanzia di lui, Ben, pensa che Julia non sia innocente e mira a spennarla per pagare un grosso debito, ma le cose si complicano.
