L'Avana, inizio degli anni Novanta. René González, un pilota cubano, ruba un aereo e scappa da Cuba, lasciandosi alle spalle l'amata moglie Olga e la figlia. Inizia così una nuova vita a Miami. Altri disertori cubani seguono presto il suo esempio e danno poi vita a una rete di spionaggio. La missione del gruppo è quella di infiltrarsi nelle organizzazioni anti-Castro violente, responsabili degli attacchi terroristici sull'isola.
