La vita di Katja (Diane Kruger) viene improvvisamente sconvolta dalla morte del marito Nuri e del figlioletto Rocco, rimasti uccisi nell'esplosione di una bomba. Grazie al sostegno di amici e familiari, Katja riesce ad affrontare il funerale e ad andare avanti. Ma la ricerca ossessiva degli assassini e delle ragioni di quelle morti insensate la tormenta, riaprendo ferite e sollevando dubbi. Danilo, avvocato e miglior amico di Nuri, rappresenta Katja nel processo finale contro i due sospetti: una giovane coppia appartenente a un'organizzazione neonazista. Il processo è un’esperienza durissima per Katja, che però non si arrende.Vuole giustizia.
