Un veterano detective dell'Fbi (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) e la sua giovane ed ambiziosa partner (Abbie Cornish) ricorrono all'aiuto del solitario dottor Clancy (Anthony Hopkins), uno psichiatra in pensione, per risolvere una serie di bizzarri omicidi.
