L'agente del FBI Gretchen Blair (Denise Richards) è in volo verso Washington quando l'uomo seduto dietro di lei le fa una proposta insolita. Le spiega che l'aereo su cui si trovano sta per essere attaccato e le offre 75 milioni di dollari per potreggerlo. Quando un gruppo di rapinatori professionisti riesce a prendere il controllo del velivolo, Gretchen capisce che l'uomo non stava affatto scherzando. Nel bel mezzo di una vera e propria rapina aerea, la donna deve battersi per salvare i passeggeri mentre i criminali cominciano a smantellare l'aereo pezzo per pezzo alla ricerca di un tesoro nascosto a bordo.
